New York State Grant Program

ny_sa_logo_290Westchester Fertility has been awarded the New York State’s “Infertility Demonstration” Grant program.

Those without coverage on their insurance for higher level infertility treatments in vitro fertilization (IVF) and gamete intra fallopian transfer (GIFT) can have their treatments subsidized by this program.

The program also includes a subsidy for testicular sperm extraction (TESE).

Provider participation in this grant program is based solely on success rates stats. Dr. Blotner’s consistently high success rates made our inclusion in the program possible.

NYS Infertility Demonstration Program Description

“The Department of Health, charged with implementing this Infertility Demonstration Program, invited selected infertility providers statewide to participate in this program. Providers who agreed to participate are responsible for billing NYS for costs associated with IVF and GIFT, after patient co-pays and insurance reimbursement, if any, are taken into account. The program includes a subsidy for testicular sperm extraction (TESE) based on the services offered by the provider.”

Provider selection is based on published data on infertility providers in NYS (CDC’s Assisted Reproductive Technology Success Rates).

CDC’s Assisted Reproductive Technology Report

The data for this national report comes from the 483 fertility clinics in operation in 2007 that provided and verified data on the outcomes of all ART cycles started at their clinics. The 138,198 ART cycles performed at these reporting clinics in 2007 resulted in 41,343 live births (deliveries of one or more living infants) and 54,656 infants. Data provided by U.S. fertility clinics that use ART to treat infertility is a rich source of information about the factors that contribute to a successful ART treatment—the delivery of a live-born infant.
